THE 12 STRATEGIES AND THE DEVICES OF THE ENEMIES WARFARE AGAINST GOD’S PEOPLE, IN THE BOOK OF NEHEMIAH! Ephesians 6:11; 2 Corinthians 2:11; Luke 4:13; 1Peter 5:8-9.
(1). The enemies is disturbed, when someone want to help to promote the work God.
When Sanballat the Horonite, and Tobiah the servant, the Ammonite, heard of it, it grieved them exceedingly that there was come a man to seek the welfare of the children of Israel .
(2). When will mock and redicule you, when they hear that you want to begin a new work for God.
But when Sanballat the Horonite, and Tobiah the servant, the Ammonite, and Geshem the Arabian, heard it, they laughed us to scorn, and despised us, and said, "What is this thing that ye do? will ye rebel against the king?"
(3). When the enemies hears that you have started a new work for God, they will become angry.
But it came to pass, that when Sanballat heard that we builded the wall, he was wroth, and took great indignation, and mocked the Jews.
And he spake before his brethren and the army of Samaria , and said, "What do these feeble Jews? will they fortify themselves? will they sacrifice? will they make an end in a day? will they revive the stones out of the heaps of the rubbish which are burned?"
Now Tobiah the Ammonite was by him, and he said, "Even that which they build, if a fox go up, he shall even break down their stone wall." Nehemiah 4:1-3
(4). In their anger, the enemies will plote together to come and fight against you.
And conspired all of them together to come and to fight against Jerusalem , and to hinder it.
Nevertheless we made our prayer unto our God, and set a watch against them day and night, because of them.
And Judah said, "The strength of the bearers of burdens is decayed, and there is much rubbish; so that we are not able to build the wall." Nehemiah 4:8-10.
(5). By prayers, God will make us to be aware of the plotes of our enemies and fustrate all their evil plans against us.
And it came to pass, when our enemies heard that it was known unto us, and God had brought their counsel to nought, that we returned all of us to the wall, every one unto his work.
Nehemiah. 4: 15.
(6). The enemies will try to device a new plan of fake frienship with you when he sees that you have succeded in doing what God called you to do despite their oppositions against us.
Now it came to pass when Sanballat, and Tobiah, and Geshem the Arabian, and the rest of our enemies, heard that I had builded the wall, and that there was no breach left therein; (though at that time I had not set up the doors upon the gates;)
That Sanballat and Geshem sent unto me, saying, "Come, let us meet together in some one of the villages in the plain of Ono". But they thought to do me mischief.
And I sent messengers unto them, saying, "I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down: why should the work cease, whilst I leave it, and come down to you?" Nehemiah. 6:1-3
(7). The enemies 4 sent a message deception to Nehemiah, with the intention to stop him from doing what he was doing for God, and 4 times replies that he doing a great work for God, that he can not come down to answer them.
Yet they sent unto me four times after this sort; and I answered them after the same manner.
(8). When the enemied saw that their plans wasn’t working out as they have planed, they accused Nehemiah of wanting to become a king.
Then sent Sanballat his servant unto me in like manner the fifth time with an open letter in his hand;
Wherein was written, It is reported among the heathen, and Gashmu saith it, that thou and the Jews think to rebel: for which cause thou buildest the wall, that thou mayest be their king, according to these words.
And thou hast also appointed prophets to preach of thee at Jerusalem , saying, There is a king in Judah : and now shall it be reported to the king according to these words. Come now therefore, and let us take counsel together. Nehemiah. 6:5-7.
(9). The enemies even went as far as trying to frighten, Nehemiah with the aid of some false prophets, but with the gift if decerning of spirit, Nehemiah knew immediately that these false prophets and their false visions were not from God.
For they all made us afraid, saying, Their hands shall be weakened from the work, that it be not done. Now therefore, O God, strengthen my hands.
Afterward I came unto the house of Shemaiah the son of Delaiah the son of Mehetabeel, who was shut up; and he said, Let us meet together in the house of God, within the temple, and let us shut the doors of the temple: for they will come to slay thee; yea, in the night will they come to slay thee.
And I said, Should such a man as I flee? and who is there, that, being as I am, would go into the temple to save his life? I will not go in.
And, lo, I perceived that God had not sent him; but that he pronounced this prophecy against me: for Tobiah and Sanballat had hired him.
Therefore was he hired, that I should be afraid, and do so, and sin, and that they might have matter for an evil report, that they might reproach me.
My God, think thou upon Tobiah and Sanballat according to these their works, and on the prophetess Noadiah, and the rest of the prophets, that would have put me in fear. Nehemiah 6:9-14.
(10). When all your enemies will hear that you have successfully completed the work, despite all their oppositions, they will become afraid of you and loose their self-confidence, they will realise that you succeded in doing what you were doing, becuase God helped you.
And it came to pass, that when all our enemies heard thereof, and all the heathen that were about us saw these things, they were much cast down in their own eyes: for they perceived that this work was wrought of our God.
Moreover in those days the nobles of Judah sent many letters unto Tobiah, and the letters of Tobiah came unto them.
For there were many in Judah sworn unto him, because he was the son in law of Shechaniah the son of Arah; and his son Johanan had taken the daughter of Meshullam the son of Berechiah.
Also they reported his good deeds before me, and uttered my words to him. And Tobiah sent letters to put me in fear. Nehemiah. 6: 16-19.
(11). Sometimes the enemies will look for somebody very close to us, he can use as a point of contact to reenter our lives and Ministries, with the intention to destroy us.
And before this, Eliashib the priest, having the oversight of the chamber of the house of our God, was allied unto Tobiah:
And he had prepared for him a great chamber, where aforetime they laid the meat offerings, the frankincense, and the vessels, and the tithes of the corn, the new wine, and the oil, which was commanded to be given to the Levites, and the singers, and the porters; and the offerings of the priests.
But in all this time was not I at Jerusalem: for in the two and thirtieth year of Artaxerxes king of Babylon came I unto the king, and after certain days obtained I leave of the king: Nehemiah 13:4-6.
(12). In his failure, sometimes, the enemy will still like to have at least a very small place in the work you are doing for God, so that he can through that small place, strike a heavy blow at you and your works in the future, But like Nehemiah, when you discover him first, strike him down and cast him out immediately out of the house of God and the work you are doing for God, before he can succeed in carrying out his own dangerous plans against you.
And I came to Jerusalem , and understood of the evil that Eliashib did for Tobiah, in preparing him a chamber in the courts of the house of God.
And it grieved me sore: therefore I cast forth all the household stuff to Tobiah out of the chamber.
Then I commanded, and they cleansed the chambers: and thither brought I again the vessels of the house of God, with the meat offering and the frankincense. Nehemiah 13:7-9.
